Knockout Drums

MESH DEMISTER

Tresca’s Mesh type separators and knock out drums use specially designed mesh pads to remove droplets by impingement on the wire surface of the mesh pad. The liquid collected on the filaments is then able to drain from the pad under gravity. Within its range of operation, mesh separators provide.

The main advantages include:
  • Efficient and economical for a wide range of applications.
  • Low pressure drop.
  • Lowest installed cost.
  • Separate droplets down to 3 micron.

VANE SEPARATOR

Vane type gas separators are used for the separation of liquid from gas. Tresca’s vane type separators consist of a series of vanes fitted inside a vessel to provide passage for vapor flow and profiled with angles to provide sufficient change of direction for liquid droplets to impact, coalesce and drain from the surfaces of the plates into the vessel sump. These vane separators are less prone to plugging than standard mesh pads.

The main advantages of the vane separators include:
  • High vapor capacity.
  • Resistance to fouling.
  • Low pressure loss.
  • Effective removal of high liquid loads.
